Adopt Buttermilk & Biscuit

Meet Buttermilk and Biscuit!

Buttermilk is a girl and is the beautiful white kitty with the orange ears and orange striped tail. Biscuit is a boy and is the adorable grey tabby with white feet.

These siblings were brought to us by some neighbors with one other sibling back in August when they were 5-6 weeks old. These feral babies were skinny, very sick, blind, and terrified. They and the other sibling were all suffering from severe upper respiratory infections and eye infections. We have a wonderful vet and we were able to treat the infections in time and as a result, they both were able to keep at least one eye. They had eye surgery to remove the bad eyes on Decmeber 18th. Other than the one eye, there was no permanent damage to either cats health and quality of life!

Buttermilk is very shy. She’s a sweet, gentle little girl, and while she’s no longer feral, she’s not big on pets and head scritches. She’ll come right up to me during a feeding, and will tolerate a couple of strokes down her back while she eats, but will run away from you if you keep petting. There’s not an agressive bone in her body. I’ve had to handle her against her will many times to care for her, and she has never hissed, growled, bitten, or scratched. She really is sweet natured, and I absolutely believe that when she is in a home setting instead of the foster kitten room we have here and is spending many more hours a day in a room where people live and spend time, she will warm up and start enjoying human affection. Because she is so timid we don’t want to adopt her out without her brother, who she is bonded to. They will be a comfort to each other when they transition to a new home.

Which brings us to Biscuit! This sweet social boy is the complete opposite of his sister, which is why I think they are perfect pair to adopt because they balance each other out! Biscuit is a very affectionate, loveable, fearless, happy kitty! He’s loves to play and chase his siblings. He loves to climb! He greets me at the door to the kitten room every day by turning sideways and arching his back, so he can immediately rub against my legs when I walk in. He jumps up on the counter when I am preparing his food and head butts my arms and hands, demanding those pets and scritches. And when you comply with his requests, he purrs like a motor in response. He is a total sweetheart!

Both Buttermilk and Biscuit have no issues from missing an eye. They get around and are as agile and coordinated as any other cat. They are about 7 months old, and are spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated. Both eat wet and dry food, and both use the litterbox.

If you are interested in adopting these sweet siblings, fill out an application here. There is a non negotiable adoption fee. We normally charge 30$ per cat, but only 50$ for a sibling pair. We just want to make sure our babies go to a good, safe home, because we love them very much! Please bring a pet carrier at pick up, either 2 regular sized one one large. It’s the safest way to transport your new babies home!
